THE STORY BEHIND THE FLOWERS
My love for flowers started long before Lila & Bloom. It began in my Grandparents' home, where my Grandma Lila has been growing snapdragons in her garden for as long as I can remember. Somehow, those little blooms became woven into some of my sweetest memories with them. To this day, whenever I see a snapdragon, it brings me right back to her garden.
That’s the heart behind Lila & Bloom. It’s made me realize just how much meaning a flower can hold. Flowers are there for some of life’s biggest moments; they become part of our own stories, and when the flowers fade, the memories don’t have to!
Which is probably what made me fall in love with floral preservation. I wanted to create a way to preserve those little pieces of life; your wedding bouquet, a flower from a celebration of life, or a bloom that simply reminds you of someone you love. Because while we can’t always keep the house, the day, or the moment exactly as it was, we can keep a little piece of it.
For me, it will always be snapdragons. And every time I see one, I’ll think of Grandma Lila, her beautiful garden, and all the memories we made there.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Alessia!
I'm a floral preservation artist based in Toronto, Ontario.
I’ve always been drawn to the outdoors, new adventures, and finding reasons to celebrate all the little things.
My friends would describe me as a social butterfly and certified chatterbox. I'm a firm believer that there is nothing that can't be fixed with good people, contagious laughter and the perfect playlist; especially when there’s a sunny patio and an aperol spritz involved.
I’ve always loved art, photography, architecture, and anything beautifully designed. When I’m not too busy obsessing over gorgeous flowers, you’ll probably find me romanticizing life to the fullest. Styling just-picked flowers on the kitchen table. Chasing fresh powder on the ski hill. Hunting down new foodie destinations to try. Finding picture perfect trails to walk. Hosting game nights that get far too carried away. Spending quality time with the people who make you laugh until your cheeks hurt. And perhaps that’s why I love what I do so much; I believe the sweetest moments in life are the ones we wish we could bottle up and keep forever.
