The earlier you secure your date, the better! I recommend booking your floral preservation as soon as your event date and venue are confirmed. Securing your date early ensures that I can reserve a spot for your flowers and give them the care and attention they deserve.

To achieve the best possible preservation results, your flowers should reach Lila & Bloom as soon as possible after your celebration. Local bouquets should be dropped off in Toronto, Ontario, within two days of your wedding or event. For shipped bouquets, please send your flowers on the first business day following your event, with delivery to us within approximately three days.
Freshness plays an important role in the preservation process. The sooner we receive your blooms, the better we can maintain their natural colour, shape, and beauty.
The frame size you choose should complement the overall size of your bouquet — small, medium, or large. If you’re looking for a true statement piece to display in your home, the 22" × 28" frame creates a beautiful impact, but it does require a substantial amount of floral material to achieve the desired look.
When it comes to layout, my personal favourite — and one of the most popular choices — is the deconstructed design. By carefully arranging the individual blooms, petals, and foliage throughout the frame, this layout showcases more of the intricate details, variety, and colour found within your original bouquet. It allows us to highlight the little details that make your flowers uniquely yours while creating a beautifully balanced piece of art.
We ask that you send your full bouquet whenever possible. Depending on the size of your frame or the number of add-on pieces selected, additional blooms may also be needed. This could include flowers from bridesmaid bouquets, centrepieces, or other floral arrangements.
Each bouquet is carefully taken apart by hand, allowing us to select the healthiest blooms and petals for preservation. Having the full arrangement gives us more flowers to work with and allows us to choose the blooms that are in the best condition, especially if some have experienced bruising, wilting, or other natural imperfections after your event.
Our approach to floral preservation is entirely natural, meaning we do not use chemicals, paints, or colour-enhancing products as part of the preservation process.
It is important to understand that natural colour variation is expected. Pressing flowers removes their natural moisture, which can cause colours to soften, shift, or take on a more vintage tone over time.
Any colour enhancement would only be considered if a prominent flower has lost an unusual amount of colour during pressing. This technique is only used by our preservation artist when necessary and with your approval first. Our goal is always to preserve the natural beauty and character of your original bouquet.
Some of my favourite flowers to preserve are hydrangeas, gaillardias, anemones, orchids, and zinnias. Their beautiful colours, textures, and natural shapes translate wonderfully through the pressing process. When creating your bouquet, incorporating a variety of blooms, colours, and textures can add beautiful depth and dimension to your finished keepsake.
I’ve yet to meet a flower I couldn’t successfully preserve through pressing! That said, the type of frame you choose can influence which flowers and dried elements can be included.
Yes! I offer 8" × 10" standard frames as an add-on option for clients. They make a beautiful keepsake gift for your bridesmaids, maid of honour, mother of the bride, mother of the groom, or anyone else who played a special role in your day.
The 8" × 10" size is available exclusively as an add-on and must accompany a main frame of 16" × 20" or larger. Our main frame collection begins at 16" × 20", as an 8" × 10" frame can be too small to showcase the variety of blooms, colours, and details from an entire bouquet. This larger size gives your flowers the space they deserve to truly shine.
From carefully taking apart your bouquet and pressing each bloom to reconstructing the flowers and creating your final keepsake, your piece involves 20+ hours of hands-on work.
During peak wedding season, please allow approximately 24 weeks for your finished piece to be completed. Each bouquet is given the time, care, and attention needed to create a beautiful keepsake that you’ll treasure for years to come.
